Welcome

It has been 9 months since I scrapped!! Oh dear! I really miss doing it. I still have many projects to go, I always said.

This is the latest addition. A very simple one to put at our doorway.

Family

This was taken during Leo's 2nd birthday, actual day - 11 Sep. Since it was a weekday, we bought a tiny cake just for the kids to be happy, sing and blow candles. Cherish this while they still enjoy doing this. In years to come, this would be too childish for them.

Leo

I thought the previous work of Skye looked better, but I have to be proud of my works (or half works). Bunn said the buttons didn't look appropriate. Well... anyway, in scrapbooking, you don't have to be so perfect, that's why it's "scrap" right? :)

Skye

It's been too long... this was from the last class I attended but did not finish.
Tonight, I finally decided to do one by one, so I started with this that was half done. I sacrificed some sleep but it's worth it. Memories are worth much more!

Should I frame it up or not? Shadow boxes really make a great difference.

Wedding album

As said, we did not take any studio photos, so having an avenue to use these photos now and scrapbooking them into an album, makes this album a very special one. Techniques used in this album: painting and stamping. Also to create dimension to the pages, gesso paint, rubber bands, serviettes come into play.

Family album - continue...

Ok, after much struggle, I finally managed to get these pages from the family album uploaded.

Techniques used in this album: a lot of inking, embossing, stamping, and tearing paper and inking the edges to give the vintage look. Once you get into scrapbooking, you will realise that taking good photos becomes an important part of this hobby cos everything starts from the photos. However, creativity also determines how you make use of bad photos which could turn out right! This is one of the reasons I like scrapbooking! It's so flexible...

Family album

I finally finish the family album! Many many more to go...but it's a good start. Seeing all the lovely photos put into a handmade album, nothing beats the sense of satisfaction, pride, and love! This is what I like about scrapbooking! Each project is a fulfilment!

Two-some no more!

Alright, you can't be lovey-dovey, living in a two-some world forever right? You could if you choose to. But we decided to add some challenges to our lives.

Ok, what you see here are really a negligible fraction of the no. of photos we have. As you can see, I am still living in the dream of love...and that's why so many pages on the wedding photos and so little of the kids. They will come...slowly...but surely...

Wedding - actual day

18 Nov 2001 - we took some time during the day to take some photos @ Pierce Reservoir again. Of course these are not all, but it sure takes time to organize and scrap! Swirls and flowers are the best to use in scrapbooking, especially wedding themes.

Wedding - 1st trial

The "rustic" look I like very much. This look is suitable especially for black and white photos. Tearing the edges of the paper and chalking them to create the effect.

7 years ago, the digital camera we used was a Sony one, which would be a giant by today's standard. The resolution was 1 megapixel, which was already the "top end" at that time. How things evolved! But these memories sure remain!

Wedding - 2nd trial

These double pages are my favourite! Our 2nd trial photo session, taken at Marina South Park.

Then in the afternoon, we proceeded to Pierce Reservoir for round 2, with the evening gown.

Little scraps...big memories

Scrapbooking is my way of escaping from the reality of daily life and embarking on a therapeutic journey to memories, recollection of little moments, in different phases of my life.

What I really like about it is that the memories become even more special having put your hands into beautifying and decorating the pages or albums. And there is no limit to how you can do it; there are endless techniques to learn, tools to use. There is no right or wrong design; some you like them better, some you just don't. It's all personal preference.

You will start seeing a series of 12x12 pages of my wedding photos. Bunn and I refused to pay to have studio photos taken. All we did was to have our own photographs taken, in our own pose, our own style, our own time... This is what we call "having control" :)

Though it's already almost 7 yrs, we would like to give credits to Dad and PL for taking these photos. And all these friends who had taken leave and their time to share these special moments with us.
